Abstract (EN)
Today, computer-aided design and three-dimensional printing technologies are enabling new forms of expression in the field of ceramic design. These technologies are opening up new horizons for designers to be more free and creative by transcending the limitations of traditional production methods. Computer-aided design programs allow ceramic forms to be digitally modeled, enabling forms to be examined from different angles, modifications to be made, and detailed previews to be provided before production. Three-dimensional printing technologies take ceramic design a step further, allowing digital models to be transformed into physical ceramic objects. By breaking free from the constraints of traditional production methods, it enables complex forms to be created more quickly. The concept of deconstruction presents a new perspective in ceramic design. Works that emerge through the fragmentation, displacement, multiplication/reduction, and reassembly of forms can express the deconstructive approach. When deconstruction is combined with three-dimensional printing technologies, it can enable designers to create unique forms. This thesis study examines in detail computer-aided design programs, three-dimensional printing technologies, and the concept of deconstruction. In line with the theoretical framework of the research, original ceramic teapot designs have been developed by adopting a deconstructive approach. These designs have been transformed from digital media into physical models using three-dimensional printing technology and have been comprehensively analyzed. This applied thesis study has enabled the transfer of theoretical knowledge into practice, thus demonstrating the potential of innovative approaches in ceramic design with concrete examples. This research aims to contribute to new forms of expression in the field by demonstrating the integration of contemporary technologies and deconstructive design understanding into ceramic art.
