Özet (EN)

In this study, a computer software program that designs and computes the equivalent circuit parameters of Induction motors (IM) with three different methods. For each method, a performance analysis is done by the software. Results are compared and discussed with the two- dimensional field analysis performed by FEMM software package for EVIs. The evaluations of these results are given as compared to the standard catalog values at the last chapter of this study. There are six chapters in the thesis. In the first chapter, a brief history of IM and a few case studies are mentioned. Then, IM principles, equivalent circuit parameter derivations, power, torque, power factor and efficiency computations are explained in detail in the second chapter. Chapter 3 provides IM design steps and some important precautions that have to be taken into account. Then, in the next chapter 4, the three different ways of computing equivalent circuit parameters of an IM are discussed in detail. Afterwards, the computer software developed is introduced and explained in chapter 5. Here, the results are tabulated in tables and graphics. Finally, at the very last chapter 6, The overall results are compared with the simulation results coming from FEMM software. Keywords: Equivalent Circuit Parameters, FEMM, Finite Element Method, IM, PC program
