Abstract (EN)

In this study, heat transfer and flow by mixed convection around two tandem equilateral triangular cylinders placed at a distance (10D) from the inlet into the free surface flow field were analyzed in two dimensions. The width of the channel is 70D, one side of the equilateral triangle is D long, and the distance between the channel exit and the channel exit of the rear cylinder is constant 35D. The distance between the tandem triangular cylinders was changed to 2D, 4D, and 6D, and the effect of the change in the distance between the cylinders on the heat transfer and flow was investigated. In the analysis, the Reynolds number defined according to one side of the cylinder was determined as 100, 150, and 200, and the Richardson number as 0, 1, 2, 4. In order to examine the effects of viscosity in the study, analyzes were made in two different Prandtl numbers. The fluids considered are air (Pr=0.7) and water (Pr=7). In addition, four different positions of the triangular cylinders according to the flow direction are also discussed in the study. Two-dimensional time-dependent, continuity, momentum equations along with the Boussinesq approximation as well as the energy equation are solved using ANSYS - Fluent® program. In the CFD analysis, the (SIMPLE) algorithm was used as the solution algorithm, and the Second-Order discretization (Second Order Upwind) scheme was used in the momentum and energy equations. In order to examine the flow area and heat transfer in detail, vorticity and isothermal curves were drawn. The mean drag coefficient, Strouhal number, lift coefficient square mean square root values, and mean Nusselt numbers on both triangular cylinders were obtained.
