Abstract (EN)

Waste is the non-ignorable problem of the modern world to be solved. When production increases, type and amount of waste increase as well. The wastes are classified by sector where they come out as industrial waste, medical waste and domestic waste. Some sorts of wastes are processed by water without a chemical process while the waste is coming out. Some of these wastes are in form of dust or they can be turned into dust after dried. In this study, the possibility of recycling marble dust, fly ash and industrial waste sand in road subbase is studied. In Turkey approximately more than 650.000 tons tons of marble dust, 600.000 tons of industrial waste sand and 13 million tons of fly ash come out in a year. Each of these three solid wastes is mixed with two different natural soils in different ratios from 5 to 40 %. Dynamical, physical and mechanical analyses have been carried out for the mixture of cured and uncured samples. In order to compare the changes with micro-structure; XRD, SEM and EDX analyses are tested on the mixtures. This study shows that the issue of using solid wastes materials the test results show that soil/waste rate can be 85/15 in the reinforcement of CI and CL class plastic soil which has low wet CBR (8, 13 %) to be used in highway fill.
