Abstract (EN)

This thesis analyzes runway and aerodrome circuit capacities of airports specifically used for flight training operations. In the first part of the study, existing analytic runway capacity models for landing, take-off and mixed operations are adapted for airports serving flight training operations, and then a runway capacity model for touch and go operations is developed based on these analytical models. In the second part of the study, the capacity and bottlenecks of the aerodrome circuit are investigated for these airports using a simulation model in ARENA software. Based on the traffic structure of the selected airport, various scenarios regarding traffic and operation mix are prepared and the control zone capacity of the airport is analyzed for these scenarios. Finally, the results of analytic and simulation models are compared and the proposals regarding the capacity enhancement are presented for the further analysis in future. Keywords: Airport Control Zone Capacity, Runway Capacity, Aerodrome CircuitCapacity, Analytic Modeling, Simulation Model
