Abstract (EN)
The transportation model is a special form of the Linear Programming model. In this model, it deals with the movement of goods from sources (supply center) to destinations (demand center). A balance must be struck between the demand requirements of the targets and the supply of resources. In the transportation model, the aim is to determine the amount of transportation that will minimize the total cost of transportation from each source to each destination. In other words, it is the optimization of the transportation cost. Transportation models are widely used in daily life. It is important to solve these problems, which can have many variables and restrictions, without errors and in a short time. Thanks to the rapid development of computer software programs, various package programs have been introduced. In this study, information about transportation models and solution methods is given. Later, a transportation model was established using the data set compiled from the information on the Turkish Hard Coal Institution (TTK) website. This established model was analyzed with Python, R and Excel programs and the results were compared and suggestions were made.
