Abstract (EN)

Currently, there is a significant increase in the prevalence of temporomandibular joint diseases, and in October, in addition to basic clinical examination, various methods and techniques are available for the diagnosis of temporomandibular joint diseases. Defined as the gold standard in the literature, magnetic resonance imaging plays an important role in assessing soft tissues as well as the joint disc. Computed tomography is used to diagnose bone lesions such as bone erosion, fractures, postoperative deformities, and deformities of the temporal bone. Bone scintigraphy, on the other hand, is useful for evaluating osteoarthritis and joint inflammation. In recent years, ultrasonography has also been identified as an important and effective method of imaging the temporomandibular joint. In our study, it was planned to evaluate the temporomandibular joint from many angles by ultrasonography and to create reference values for diagnosis by correlating it with clinical data. The aim of our thesis is to contribute to the literature in terms of demonstrating the reliability of the use of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of temporomandibular joint diseases. Key Words: Temporomandibular Joint, Temporomandibular Joint Disorders, Ultrasonography The present work was supported by the Research Fund of Istanbul University.
