Abstract (EN)

As the water resources diminish and water contaminated with pathogen microorganisms is very hard to use again due to the fact that there is an essential need to do an adequate disinfection for these waters. Chlorine that is used as disinfection is known to create some unwanted chlorinated organic co-products are caused side effect. The problems in this traditional disinfection methods necessitate the new alternative methods in disinfection. One of these alternative method is the ultrasound disinfection. In this study, the effects of different frequencies for inactivation of Esherichia coli were investigated. Optimum microorganism inactivation was observed at 28kHz of frequency. NO3-, HCO3-, SO4-2 ions which found in system, hydrogen peroxide and nitrogen (gas) which was added to the system for microorganism inactivation were studied.
