Evaluation of the physical and physiological properties of sailor sports laser class athletes at national and local levels

EVALUATION OF PHYSICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SAILING SPORT LASER CLASS ATHLETES AT INTERNATIONAL AND NATIONAL LEVEL Onur KARASU Dokuz Eylul University Institute of Medical Sciences onur.odess@hotmail.com Object: While determining the physical and physiological parameters affecting the success of the laser class athletes, it is to determine also the differences between the physical and physiological status of the laser class athletes of the international team level and the national level athletes. Additionally, it is also to create a norm value in national sailing athletes by contributing to the national literature of the study. Method: This research is descriptive and cross-sectional. The sample of the study is considered to be composed of 20 male athletes in total comprising 10 male national team athletes with an average age of 15-25 who participated actively in the competitions associated with the Turkey Sailing Federation and 10 male athletes participating in the races on a club basis. It is planned to carry out the physical and anthropometric measurements of the volunteers (Height, Body Weight, Body Mass Index, Body Fat Percentage, Diameter and Circumference Measurements), Physiological measurements (Resting Heart Rate, Blood Pressure), and performance measurements (Anaerobic Power, Endurance test in Trapez position). After being evaluated statistically on computer, a report of the findings obtained was written. Findings: It is observed that there was a significant positive difference between the physical characteristics of national and international sailors and Body Mass Index parameters (p There was no significant difference in other parameters.
