Abstract (EN)

The expansion and self-development of maritime trade has led to an increase in the importance of the maritime sector and at the same time has led to the complexity of the relations between the seafarer and the shipowner. For this reason, it has been seen that some regulations are needed in the maritime field. These regulations have been tried to be created in an international plan by the International Labor Organization. The International Labor Organization emerged especially after the industrial era and was officially established with the Treaty of Versailles signed after the First World War. The main purpose of the establishment of the International Labor Organization is to protect the rights of employees in the non-competitive environment of employers and to make some regulations in this regard. The International Labor Organization has signed many contracts in the maritime sector, as in every field. With these contracts, it is aimed to regulate the working life of seafarers and to establish certain standards in this regard. The applicability of the contracts published by the International Labor Organization for seafarers has been examined within the scope of this research.
