Abstract (EN)

Multinational corporations have had an important place in international law and politics throughout history. Their commercial activities in more than one country enabled multinational companies to increase their economic power as well as to strengthen their international policies due to their contribution to national economies and their relations with states. However, this power had devastating effects in order to make profit and caused human rights violations in many regions. Since the power struggle between states and corporations prevents the acceptance of multinational corporations' subject status in international law, there is still no international legal mechanism where multinational corporations can be tried for their human rights violations. In scope of the thesis, the responsibility of multinational corporations in terms of human rights violations are investigated.
