Evaluation of Turkey in the light of developments in International Refugee Law

The present study aims at analysing norms in international refugee law and the types of protection that was created for protecting asylum seekers. The scope of the study is essentially about examining whether current international legislation is effective in order to achieve a durable solution for the problems which was resulted from refugee crisis and asylum system in Turkish Law will be evaluated within this framework. To this end, it will be explained basic concepts in migration and refugee law and government policies concerning the admission of foreign nationals in the first chapter of the study. The second part of the study will comprehensively examine main legislation that embodies in refugee law and the types of protection. Finally, it will be evaluated recent developments regarding international refugee law and endeavour to respond the question of whether to be reached permanent solutions pursuant to responsibility sharing mechanisms by clarifying asylum system in Turkish law in the last chapter.
