Investigation of the effect of policy risks on the transportation sector in international trade; the case of Turkey

In today's transportation sector affected due to its international size occurring political crisis economically. It is not possible to avoid a national or international crisis. However, it is possible to use the company's resources in the most efficient way and to measure and manage the risks that may occur in order to get the least damage from the effects caused by the crisis. In this study, between 2015 and 2018 occurred and the date BIST might call a political crisis in Turkey 'e registered and BIST 100 index traded on the analysis of transport companies analyzed. Some ratios, returns and risks were calculated before and after the crisis. The event study method was used in the study. An abnormal return (AR) occurred on the day of the event (t - 0). The fact that the cumulative abnormal returns, calculated up to 10 days after the event day (t + 10), are higher than the abnormal, shows that the effect of the event continues. Based on this result, strong transportation companies are interpreted.
