Evaluation of the international university students' awareness about the tengible and intangible cultural heritage according to UNESCO world heritage: Turkey as a sample

This research examines the awareness and interest among Eskişehir Anadolu University international students who are studying in TÖMER in regard to the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the places located in Turkey of the UNESCO world heritage list. Quantitative methods were used in the research and a descriptive scanning model research was conducted. The sample of this research is about 100 students who participate in Anadolu University Turkish Teaching Center every year according to the data provided by the TÖMER administration. The research is conducted with the participation of 71 students out of 90 international students studying in the TÖMER center during the 2019-2020 academic year. Research data were collected in March 2020. In order to collect the data, "Data Collection Tool" was used and it was applied in the TÖMER center. In the answers given to the questions used in the Data collection tool, techniques such as "Frequency", "Percent", "Arithmetic Mean", "ANOVA" and "T test" were used with the SPSS 25.0 program. In addition to that, "Discussion technique" was applied to present and interpret the research findings. The TÖMER students who participated in the data collection tool implemented under the Research have reached the conclusion that there is a lack of sufficient awareness about Turkey's UNESCO World Heritage List and based on the obtained results, various suggestions have been made.
