Abstract (EN)
In this study on the elite wrestlers who have been studying at the University of Aksaray Sport Academy, Niğde Sport Academy and Kırşehir Sport Academy, it has been investigated how the effects of the fast weight loosing methods (via dehydration) applied in today?s wrestling competitions influence performance.20 wrestlers, 17 (of whom) from Aksaray University and 2 (of whom) from Kırşehir University and 1 (of whom) from Niğde University were taken as the subjects in the study. The wrestlers are divided into two groups; 10 wrestlers were assigned as the training group and 10 of them as sauna groups. The measurements were done in three processes. In the first process, groups? height measurements, standing long jump, vertical jump, hand grip, pull-ups, piyolet, visual and auditory reaction time, concentration analysis of the urine and the percentage of body fat were measured. In the second process each group was made to lose 3 % weight, the sauna group through sauna and the training group through training, the same test was applied again. In the third process, the same tests were applied again after a 15- hour recovery time for the third time. In the second measurement, approximately 3.20 % weight loss in the training group and 3.75 % weight loss in the sauna group was determined. After the recovery time, the compensation percentages of the sauna group in the horizontal bar(% 93.23), vertical leaping (%99.65), standing long jump (%99.81), urine analysis (%99.82,), hand strength (%95.22), piyolet (%95.45), visual reaction time(%98.83) auditory reaction time (%97.80), percentage of body fat (%81.96) were determined. In the training group, the compensation percentages of the sauna group in the horizontal bar (%99.12), vertical leaping (%97.13), standing long jump (%99.83), urine analysis (%98.95), hand strength (%99.14), piyolet (%97.13), visual reaction time (%99.22), auditory reaction time (% 95.11), percentage of body fat (%78.17) were determined. Considering the compensation percentages, it can be concluded that the sportsmen in the training group were in a better level than the others. In this study, measurements made on elite wrestlers, it is seen that rapid loss of body weight is not suggested through sauna and training due to they cause the loss of performance but to lose weight through training according to sauna is preferable in sports in which body weight is important.2013, 102Keywords1.
