University museums meet today?s organization with scientific, social and cultural changes. Consisting of university and museum concept, university museums gather directional meaning. This feature gains making educational works and researches, showing of having institutional evolvement and cultural resources and having communication and interaction with the community that university exist. University museums show variety depending on their collection types. Scientific collections have began with the organic connection of science that they work at but museums with art collections established out of universities and free from departments. After establishing history of art as a department in university, art collections started to be used effectively in university education, a university museum must have a mission and vision that covers both campus area and exterior even it is a science or art museum. The mission and vision must express the collection policy of museum; how and where to use the faculty, division and programs of university; and where and how to spot inside and outside the university. Before establishing an art museum exists in university, it is important to build a research and practice center to improve communication between museum and university with other academic and administrative departments. This research center will make it possible how to use museum?s vision and mission, collection policy, how and which faculty, department and program will be used, how and where to position itself inside and outside of university and work on those also to make that museum to be managed with ?modern museum methods?.
