Investigation of rejection sensitivity and violence tendencies according to attachment styles in university

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between rejection sensitivity and violence tendency levels according to the attachment styles of university students. Another aim of the study is to examine the relationship of gender variable with attachment styles, rejection sensitivity and tendency to violence. The sample of the research, which is a relational screening model, consists of 342 students studying at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, Tarsus University, Toros University and Çağ University. Personal information form, Relationship Scales questionnaire, Rejection Sensitivity and Violence Tendency scales were applied to the participants. In order to examine whether the rejection sensitivity and violence tendency examined in the study differ according to attachment styles and gender, the two-way analysis of variance; Tukey test was used to find the source of the differences. According to the findings of the study, it was found that individuals' sensitivity to rejection did not differ according to gender, but individuals with anxious attachment style had high rejection sensitivity. Looking at the findings about violence tendency, it was found that the mean scores of violence tendency of women and participants with a secure attachment style were low. A relationship was found between attachment styles, sensitivity to rejection, and tendency to violence.
