Abstract (EN)
Mindfulness is the moment of awareness that occurs when focusing on the moment without judgment. While mindfulness is affected by factors such as perfectionism and intolerance of uncertainty, these variables can also affect life satisfaction. This study was conducted in a cross-sectional design and within the framework of the relational survey model in order to examine the relationship between mindfulness and perfectionism, intolerance of uncertainty and life satisfaction in university students. The study was conducted with 415 university students. Demographic Information Form, Mindfulness, Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism, Intolerance of Uncertainty and Life Satisfaction scales were used in the study. Data were collected through Google Forms, Pearson product-moment correlation analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to test the structural relationships between variables. In the study, it was determined that life satisfaction was significantly correlated with the other sub-dimensions of perfectionism except the Personal Standards sub-dimension. There was a negative relationship between the sub-dimensions and total score of the intolerance of uncertainty scale and life satisfaction. The total score of mindfulness was positively correlated with life satisfaction. According to the Structural Equation Model, the predictive effect of perfectionism on mindfulness and life satisfaction was significant. The predictive effect of intolerance of uncertainty and mindfulness on life satisfaction was not significant. As a result of the analyses, it was determined that mindfulness had a negative relationship with intolerance of uncertainty and perfectionism and a positive relationship with life satisfaction. In the Structural Equation Model, the effect of perfectionism on mindfulness and life satisfaction was found significant. It was determined that the effect of mindfulness variable on life satisfaction emerged indirectly in the context of the structural model. It is assumed that it would be beneficial to inform university students about perfectionism and intolerance of uncertainty in order to increase their mindfulness and life satisfaction.
