Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between childhood emotional trauma levels and attachment styles among university students in early adulthood and the difference according to childhood sociodemographic characteristics. The sample of the study was composed of a total of 225 individuals,101 females and 124 males, randomly selected among the youth between the ages of 18-25 who study at the university. The research data were obtained by applying the Experience in close relationships inventory, Childhood Emotional Trauma Scale and Demographic Information form to the participants. SPSS 23.0 statistics program was used for data analysis. The consents of the participants determined on voluntary basis were obtained. As a result of the study, it was determined that the anxious attachment scores differ statistically according to the education level of the father. A positive, low-level statistically significant relationship was found between the anxious attachment score and the emotional abuse sub-dimension scores. A positive, low-level statistically significant relationship was found between anxious attachment and emotional neglect sub-dimension scores. According to these data, a positive significant relationship was found between childhood emotional neglect and emotional abuse levels and anxious attachment.
