Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine whether dysfunctional attitudes have any predictive effect on generalized anxiety tendencies in university students and to determine whether cognitive emotion regulation strategies have a mediator role in this effect. The sample of the study is collected from the Istanbul Kent University; It consists of students of Human and Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Art and Design, Faculty of Dentistry and Graduate School of Social Sciences. A total amount participation of 474 students, 369 women and 105 men. In this study, the data were obtained from "Socio-Demographic Information Form", "Dys-Functional Attitudes Scale Short Form (DAS-17)", "Cognitive Emotion Regulation Scale", "Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) Scale" and "Beck Anxiety Scale". In this study, it is determined that there is a significant relationship between dysfunctional attitudes, cognitive emotion regulation strategies and generalized anxiety. In addition, dys-functional attitudes were found to have a partial mediating role of cognitive emotion regulation strategies on generalized anxiety.
