The investigastion of relationship between cyber-bullying/victimization and the satisfaction of psychological needs and assertiveness among university students

This research among university students in cyber-bullying/cyber victimization between psychological satisfaction of needs and assertiveness were examined. Correlational research model was used in the study. Research population consisted of students receiving undergraduate study at Ataturk University. The research sample the 2014-2015 academic year studying education at various schools in Ataturk University consists of 218 girl 172 males, 390 female students. Within the study, demographic information form which was prepared for each of the students participating in the study, "Refurbished Cyberbullying Inventory," "Need Satisfaction Scale" and "Voltan Acar Self-Determination Inventory" were used to collect data. In the process of data analysis, descriptive statistics were done and Pearson's Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient analysis and Linear Regression Analysis were used to determine the relations between the variables. The research results university students between cyberbullying and low satisfaction with the psychological needs and cyber victimization and meaningful relationships with moderate assertiveness shows that. Cyberbullying satisfaction of psychological needs explaining 13.4% of cyber-victimization to explain by 10.7%; assertiveness to explain 8.4% of cyber bullying, and cyber victimization discloses 1.1%. Also according to the research results of students 'competence' and 'not related' cyber-bullying and cyber victimization are significant predictors. Only 'autonomy' cyber bullying and the needs of the students seems to be a significant predictor of cyber victimization.
