Abstract (EN)

The main aim of this study is to determine the tourism perceptions of university students in Batman province and the level of support they give to the development of tourism. In addition, it is to investigate whether these data differ according to the demographic characteristics of the students. Within the scope of the research, university students' perceptions of the tourism potential of Batman province and their contribution to the tourism development level of Batman province will be emphasized. This study consists of three parts. In the first part, general information about tourism is given. The second part provides information about Batman province and its tourism features. In the third and last part, there are the results of the research carried out to determine the tourism perceptions of Batman University students in Batman and their support for the development of tourism. In the study, in which the Quantitative Research Method, one of the research methods, was applied, the survey method was used to clarify the current situation, and the sample was determined by collecting data from 417 participants among the students studying at Batman University. The collected data were analyzed in the SPSS 21 program and T-test and ONE-WAY ANOVA analyzes of variance were conducted to measure how the participants perceived tourism according to their demographic differences and to measure the effects. "Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis" were conducted to determine the positive and negative effects of the participants on the socio-cultural, economic, environmental and development level of tourism. Considering the test results, significant differences were found in the perception of tourism effects by university students due to differences in demographic characteristics such as gender, age, education level and income status. It has been seen that the perceived positive contributions in tourism increase the support for tourism development. In this respect, it has been concluded that positive economic, socio-cultural and environmental effects are more decisive than the support given to tourism.
