Determining university students' tendency of entrepreneurship: A survey in Dumlupınar University

Entrepreneur is a factor of production that creates value and contributes to the economical welfare level of societies. Entrepreneurship is basis of transformation and formation in underdeveloped countries and in developed countries it is the basis of welfare and comfort. Entrepreneurship can be defined as a foresight which transforms consumption into opportunity. Tendency of entrepreneurship is a function created by the evaluation competence after realizing education, risk, belief and opportunities. Individuals increase their possibility of being successful via improving their existing characteristics with the help of education. In the first chapter of this study, entrepreneurship, the importance of entrepreneurship and framework of the factors that effect on entrepreneurship has been approached/ handled with a literature research. In second chapter, the conceptual framework of entrepreneurial personality and tendency of entrepreneurship have been studied. In the last chapter of the study, the methods, researches and findings about entrepreneurship have been indentified in accordance with this conceptual framework. Under the guidance of these finding, making a contribution, to the comparison of entrepreneurship tendencies of students that take technical and social education both in bachelor and associate degree, is aimed with interpretations and results. In consequence of this study, there is no significant difference of entrepreneurship tendencies between the senior students of bachelor and associate degree. Similarly, there is no significant difference between the senior students that take social and technical education in terms of entrepreneurship tendency. Nevertheless, it has been seen that the entrepreneurship tendency of a senior student of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences is higher than a senior student of Engineering Faculty.
