Abstract (EN)

The study aims to examine the student information system satisfaction and technology acceptance of university distance education students. Within the scope of this aim, the study has four sub-aims. The first is the examination of students' satisfaction levels with the student information system. The second sub-aim of the study is to examine whether the student information system satisfaction of distance education university students is predicted by the sub-dimensions of the acceptance scale (facilitating conditions, social impact, effort expectation and performance expectation) and age, gender, participation in orientation training and daily usage time of the student information system. The third sub-aim of the study is to examine students' acceptance levels of the student information system. The other aim of the research is to determine whether the student information system acceptance of university students studying with distance education method differs in terms of age, gender, participation in orientation training, the device they use, daily usage time of student information system and weekly usage frequency variables. Considering the sub-aims of the study, the research was planned and conducted using correlational and screening designs. The sample of the study consisted of 665 students who voluntarily accepted to participate in the research by convenient sampling method. Findings on the research problem and sub-problems were analyzed using data from 425 participants randomly chosen from the research sample, and analyses for developing the measurement tools used in the research were analyzed using data from 240 participants randomly chosen from the research sample. Personal information form, student information system acceptance scale and student information system satisfaction scale are the tools used in data collection. The data of the study were obtained by using an online data collection form. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis, one-way analysis of variance, independent samples t-test, multiple regression analysis and Kruskal-Wallis H test. In the analysis of the data, Statistical Package Programme for Social Sciences (SPSS 25.0) was used. The research findings indicated that students' satisfaction with the student information system was above average. Facilitating conditions, effort expectation and performance expectation sub-dimensions of the student information system acceptance scale were found to be positive, significant and high-level predictors of student information system satisfaction. The social impact sub-dimension of the student information system acceptance scale was found to be positive, significant and medium level predictor of student information system satisfaction. Age variable was detected to be a positive, significant and low-level predictor of student information system satisfaction. It was found that student information system daily usage time, participation in orientation training and gender variables were not significant predictors of student information system satisfaction. It was found that the students' level of acceptance of the student information system was above average. It was determined that students' student information system technology acceptance scale showed significant differences according to gender variable in terms of facilitating conditions sub-dimension; according to age variable in terms of facilitating conditions, social impact, effort expectancy and performance expectancy sub-dimensions; according to the device they used in terms of facilitating conditions and effort expectancy sub-dimensions; according to the student information system daily usage time variable in terms of facilitating conditions and social impact sub-dimensions; and according to the student information system weekly usage frequency variable in terms of social impact, effort expectancy and performance expectancy sub-dimensions.
