Abstract (EN)
Objective: This study aims to test a relationship model that predicts leisure interests, leisure constraints, leisure negotiation strategies and leisure motivations to determine the exercise behaviours of university students. Method: The universe of the study consists of 31816 students having an education at faculties, an institution of higher schools and vocational schools in Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in the 2020-2021 academic year, while the population consists of a total of 440 (Average=21.19±3.46) students. As data collection tools, Exercise Stages of Change Questionnaire, Leisure Involvement Scale, Leisure Constraints Scale, Leisure Negotiation Strategies Scale and Leisure Motivation Scale were used. In the analysis of the data, a one-way analysis of variance was used to determine whether there was a statistical difference between the scores of the exercise change steps from the leisure involvement scales, and Tamhane's T2 test, one of the Post-Hoc tests, was used to determine the difference. Hierarchical Regression Model analysis was carried out to test the model, fictionalised with leisure involvement, leisure constraints, leisure negotiation strategies and motivation dimensions. Results: When the exercise change steps were examined in terms of the involvement levels of the participants, it was determined that the highest score was in the continuity, and the lowest involvement level score was in the movement step. When the effect dimensions are examined, it has been determined that the biggest effect on the level of involvement is motivation, and the lowest effect is the leisure time barriers dimensions. When the effect dimensions of the sub-dimensions on the level of involvement were examined, it was observed that the sub-dimension with the highest effect on the level of involvement was knowing and achieving, which is the sub-dimension of motivation, and the dimension with the lowest effect was time, the sub-dimension of leisure constraints. Conclusion: It can be said that the highest dimension affecting the level of involvement is motivation, and individuals with high motivation manage all the reasons they see as constraints better with negotiation strategies, and their participation in leisure time exercise increases. So, it has been determined that it is very important to manage motivation for individuals) expected to actively participate in leisure time activities.
