Abstract (EN)
03. Summary The aim of the study is to devolep a model for explaining and reducing social anxiety problems of university students. For this purpose a two-stage research desing was set to invastigate all aspects of the study. At the first stage, descriptive nature of the questions were answered with causal interential techniques. At the second stage, the effectivennes of reality therapy intervention on social anxiety was tested via experimental process, and intervention model was tested and driven from descriptive and SEM results. In this study, Study I consists of descriptive part, and Study II is experimental part. Study-I is conducted on 650 university students. From the results of Study-I, a reality therapy oriented helping model was constructed. Through in-and out-class announcements and screening 72 students having social anxiety were determined and volunteered to attend the Study n. At those students two experimental and control groups were established and the students were randomly assigned to these groups. Intervention program, reality-therapy and ampirical results of the Study I were transmited and reality therapy prenciples and treatment process with treatment planning, self-monitoring, behavioral assessment and others homework procedures were all instructed to participants. Study I measures were collected with pretest, posttest, 3 month, and 6 month fallow ups. Structural Equation Modeling, Factor Analysis, Multiple Regression Analiysis, Correlation and t-test istatistical tools were used for Study I, and Multivariate Repeated Measures Analiysis for t ime x i ntervention i nteraciton e ffect w ere u sed i n t he Study H Structural Equation Modeling with LISREL revealed significant model-fit indices, and predictability of social anxiety with all the variables put into SEM model. From the repeated measures analiysis, interveniton and time interaction effects were found to be significant for all prominent variables as associated with social anxiety. This reality therapy intervention model revealed promising results in terms of reducing social anxiety. Two-stage results were discused regarding university students' social anxiety experiences. Overall result were evaluated for previous findings, and future implication in the area of counseling and helping university students.
