Abstract (EN)

Emotion management is a phenomenon that affects both personal and organizational life and gains more importance day by day (Avcı, 2014, 5). Emotion management consist of sub-dimensions of self-control, self-awareness, communication, social skills and empathy. These five dimensions significantly affect emotion management. The aim of this study is to search the emotion management ability of the teaching staff at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. The research was conducted on 310 of 702 lecturers who work at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. In this research, emotion management competency levels of the teaching staff according to age, gender, title, administrative duty, unit, seniority, marital status and area variable were examined. The research is a Descriptive Survey model which aims to determine the emotion management competencies of faculty members with quantitative measurement tools. 'Emotion Management Skills Scate' developed by Çeçen (2002) and 'Personel Information Form' were used in order to gather data. By the help of this scale, the results on emotion management skills are obtained by consireding the lecturers demographic features. For analyzing the data SPSS 22.0 and Lisrel Programs were used. Firstly, lost data analysis was performed on the data and new data was obtained by means of average assignment method. Analyzes were made by looking at the results of normality. Frequency, average and standard deviation for Descriptive analysis, T test or Kruskal Wallis test to compare binary variables, Anova or Mann-Whitney U test to compare variables from groups of three or more, were used. Post Hoc analyzes were performed to compare the subgroups for the variables that were statistically significant according to the Anova results. As a result of the research, the emotion management of the instructors is at a moderate level. The emotion management competence levels of the faculty members who are 50 years or older are higher than the others. The level of competence of emotion management of faculty members is higher than the others. The faculty members in the faculty have higher emotion management. Emotional management levels of faculty members between 11-20 years are higher. Single faculty members have higher levels of emotion management competence than married members. The level of competence of emotion management of faculty members in science is higher than the others. Female faculty members have higher levels of emotion management competence than men. The faculty members who have administrative duties have higher emotion management competencies than those who do not.
