Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to examine the factors that prevent and facilitate the recreational activities of university personnel. In this context, academic and administrative staff working at Sinop University were reached and their opinions were tried to be determined. This study, in which the survey technique was applied, consists of 3 sections and 46 questions. The survey consists of academic and administrative staff who can be reached between November 3, 2023 and February 01, 2024 during the data collection process. In the study, simple random sampling method, which is one of the probability-based sampling methods, was used to determine the people to be included in the sampling. The population of the study consists of a total of 1205 people, including 618 academic and 587 administrative staff working at Sinop University. The sample of the study consists of 139 academic and 173 administrative staff. The prepared online questionnaire was delivered to the academic and administrative staff working at Sinop University in order to provide the acceptable sample size (312 participants) for the universe size. Personal information form, leisure facilitators scale and leisure barriers scale were used as data collection tools. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained in the study, it was seen that the majority of the academic and administrative staff working at Sinop University were male, married, between the ages of 26-40, living with their families, and the majority had a postgraduate education level. In addition, it was determined that the majority of the personnel had a monthly income of 25001 TL or more. It was observed that the majority of academic and administrative staff evaluated the level of welfare as "normal". It is one of the other results obtained that the majority of the personnel participating in the research have a weekly free time period of 6-10 hours and that they have difficulty in evaluating free time "sometimes". It also stated that the majority of staff were "partially" proficient in recreational space. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the main factor that prevents the participation of university staff in recreational activities is "facility", and the main factor that facilitates the participation of university staff in activities is "personal facilitators". In addition, it has been determined that there is a positive relationship between leisure barriers and facilitators.
