Abstract (EN)

Aim of this research: is determining design problems of university web pages and identifying the criteria to make quality interface designs appear. At the research, university web pages information architecture and design were examined in two main forms. An artistic point of view on the basis of design principals to interface designs has been tried to be developed. In the scope of the research, basic design principles were examined. The relationship between design problems, information architecture of web pages and the other components constructing the web pages has been tried to be identified. Under this context, eight university interfaces were examined; four of which are native and the other four are foreign. Evaluation criteria have been determined to identify the weaknesses in the interface designs. Structure of Information architecture of web pages has been defined.Gathered information was classified and its location in the interface design has been determined. An interface has been tried to be formed in an artistic and institutional context. www.sanaluniversite.org application has been prepared by using XHTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT languages. At the implementation stage, coding methods which will prevent occurence of formal differences were used. The work of application has been aimed to constitute a quality example, both artistically and technically.
