Abstract (EN)

Recently, quality of life has become a commonly used and a current concept which has been concern of a range of disciplines from sociology, psychology to nursing, gerontology and medical sciences. Quality of life studies aims to measure individuals? quality of life, determine affecting factors of quality of life and reveal the related structures.Some of those studies take place in higher education institutions universities. Although there are many studies in the literature concerning college students and quality of life (QOL), studies about quality of college life (QCL) which is based on subjective well ? being of students are just new and scarce. The very first relevant study is accomplished by Sirgy et al. (2007). Authors define quality of college life the overall feeling of satisfaction students experience in college and developed Quality of College Life (QCL) Scale.Accordingly, the aim of this study is examine the psychometric properties of QCL scale and adapt the scale to Turkish university students. Another aim of the study is measure the quality of college life of Akdeniz University students and research the affects of quality of college life on quality of life, satisfaction with life and identification with university.In this study reliability and validity of QCL scale broadly analyzed and the study showed that the scale is reliable and valid. On the other hand, relationships between quality of college life, quality of life, satisfaction with life and identification with university are tested with structural equation modeling.It has been found that Akdeniz University students? satisfaction with academic and social aspects of the university had a significant positive effect on quality of life but satisfaction with facilities and services aspects of the university did not have a significant influence on quality of life. Another result of the study is students satisfaction with academic and social aspects of the university had a significant positive effect on life satisfaction. Three dimensions of the QCL scale has positively influence identification with university. The effects of demographic variables on quality of college life, quality of life, satisfaction with life and identification with university examined as well.
