Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the types and causes of disability occurring in bocce sports according to the opinions of bocce athletes studying at university. Information about athletes nutrition, health status and training processes were also obtained in order to investigate the information about athletes' injuries. In this respect, the research was designed in a general survey model. A total of 62 male and 71 female students participated in the study. As a data collection tool, bocce athletes' questionnaire form was created to investigate the types and causes of disability. Chi-square test was used to determine whether the disability processes showed significant differences according to the demographic characteristics of the athletes by calculating the frequency and percentage values. The significance value was accepted as (p <.05). The findings of the study showed that 75% of male bocce athletes and 53% of females were injured due to insufficient warming. When the data were examined, 60% (n = 28) of the athletes who received their opinions within the scope of the study and who stated that they had been injured previously stated that they were injured due to insufficient warming. 17.4% (n = 8) of the athletes stated that the physical structure was inconvenient, 13% (n = 6) had lack of concentration, and 8.7% (n = 4) suffered from disability due to motivation disorder. As a result, it was determined that the main factor of the risk of injury was the inadequacy of the physical structure and the athletes experienced disability in the hand-wrist region. Therefore, both the training areas and the competition conditions should be regulated in relation to bocce sport and the factors causing physical disability should be prevented. In addition, it can be said that transferring the correct warming methods to the athletes by coaches will be effective in preventing the formation of disability
