Abstract (EN)

This study has been conducted for a patented innovative natural ventilation model designed for the ventilation of industrial buildings. The natural ventilation system was examined in terms of ventilation performance and exergy efficiency using data obtained experimentally over the course of one year. To optimize the experimental physical model, 45 different designs of natural ventilation models were created based on the experimental model. Experimental and numerical analysis validation was conducted under specified environmental conditions. The ventilation flow rates provided by the 45 designs under summer and winter conditions were determined using the FloEFD software. The Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) approach was employed in FloEFD, utilizing a pressure and density-based formulation. The modified k-ε model was selected as the turbulence model. A mesh sensitivity study was also conducted within the numerical analysis. The required quantities and initial investment costs for the models designed for the industrial building under study were determined, and the Net Benefit-to-Cost (NBD) ratios for the designs and designs yielding optimum benefits were determined. Among the designed 45 models, Design 10 was considered the optimum design with the highest NBD value of $138,437.95 and exergy values of 98.83% in summer conditions and 99.07% in winter conditions. In addition, the energy savings and gas emissions resulting from the use of the natural ventilation model providing optimum benefits were determined, leading to the conclusion tHAD the natural ventilation model is economically and environmentally worthwhile. Furthermore, alternative materials, production methods, and recommendations for increasing the application frequency were examined for ncreasing the application frequency were examined for the optimum design, resulting in improvements in the NBD value.
