Carpet weavings of Ürgüp region

Throughout the history,humankind focused on creatures and objects in natüre by installing different meaningand they looked for transferring from generation to generation and in this way they motivated different arts.Hand-weaving also constitutes an important place among these arts.Icons,motifs and stamps are showing up the rich culture. Carpet weavers used motifs according to region altough in different ways,in each regionrefers to the same meaning.Amotif can be used in an architecture and hand-weaving at the same time shows the togetherness of Turkish arts.The searches show that using of hand-weaving motifs synthesize the Turkish culture and the belief system.Russian archeologist Rudenko made V.Pazarık Kurgani.This working ended the discussion that which culture the art of carpet belonged.Rudenko found a woven part and the technique of node belonged to Turkish culture. Urgup carpets were examined according to the colour,pattern,motif and composition and compared with different carpets belonging to the different regions.As a result of this comparison they found out Urgup carpets belonged which carpet group.They focused on the reasons of the loss of impotance of Urgup hand-weaving.
