Abstract (EN)
Refill solutions based on product-service systems play a significant role in promoting sustainable consumption habits and reducing environmental impacts. This research, both descriptive and exploratory in nature, maps the current state of refill system users in Turkey by examining their experiences and interactions with these solutions. The study provides insights into the challenges, opportunities, and outcomes derived from user experiences and behaviors. Findings reveal that motivational factors such as economic benefits and environmental concerns drive user engagement, while barriers like lack of promotion, access difficulties, hygiene concerns, and limited product variety negatively impact user experiences. Additionally, the study highlights user-driven suggestions for improving refill systems, including strategic promotional campaigns, increasing product and refill variety, expanding access points, designing functional packaging, and implementing user education initiatives. This study provides a significant foundation for understanding the current user experiences with refill systems in Turkey and exploring opportunities for their wider adoption. The research findings offer valuable insights into how refill systems can be more effectively designed to promote sustainable consumption habits. For future research, adopting user-centered design approaches, enhancing stakeholder collaboration, and developing innovative business models are crucial for the success of these systems.
