Abstract (EN)
Cinema has been the subject of numerous experiments and researches since its birth. These researches and experiments have enabled many areas to be distinguished in cinema. One of these areas is the visual effect in cinema. The visual effect has existed and also has evolved with cinema. The digitalization of cinema started with the visual effects of cinema. In this context, cinema visual effects design has benefited and contributed to these technological developments. Another area where visual effect is used is video games. Just like in cinema, it has also been used in video games since the beginning. The use of visual effects in the video games and the digitization of visual effect in the cinema coincided within the same period. The fact that both areas use the visual effect intensively and the two areas cannot be considered independent of the visual effects has been one of the reasons why the visual effect is the common point of the two areas. Despite its being a common area in both fields, studies on visual effects was carried out independently. The purpose of this study is to reveal the potentials of the visual effects as being an inclusive tool that addresses the common work, production area and use in the two areas. In this respect, it is aimed to get a visual map of the visual effects design by interviewing the designers working in both fields. In this context, multiple case studies were conducted from qualitative research methods. And then the data obtained from interviews were categorized and analyzed by thematic coding.
