Uşak textile industry Swot analysis

While businesses keep up with the rapid technological change experienced with globalization, they must simultaneously maintain their position in the market and increase their market share against competitors in an increasingly competitive environment. Here, businesses need to have strategic management. With the right strategies, businesses will gain many advantages such as being prepared for unexpected situations, coping with difficulties, and reacting early to market needs. Many analysis techniques are used in determining the strategic plan suitable for the business. Of these, the most frequently preferred one is SWOT analysis. Many reasons such as textile's contribution to our country's economy, its success in exports, and the number of workers it employs have made this sector even more important. The fact that the province of Uşak has been known for its hand-woven carpets and rugs throughout history, and that it has exported more textiles than the provinces with a larger population and larger surface area, according to TÜİK data, is an indication that the textile culture is well-established for the province of Uşak. In recent years, the concept of recycling has gained importance both in the world and in our country. Most of the recycling activities in our country are carried out in Uşak Province, which has made Uşak province even more important for the textile industry. The textile sector is worth examining as it is a very important source of income in Uşak province. The main purpose of this study titled "Uşak Textile Sector SWOT Analysis" is; To identify current problems in the textile industry and develop solutions to the problems in the context of manager opinions. With this study, a SWOT analysis was conducted by interview method with 174 textile enterprises operating in Uşak and evaluations were made for the sector. With the SWOT analysis, the strengths and weaknesses of the sector are revealed. Possible threats that the business will face have been identified and plans that the business can implement in these situations have been developed. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the Uşak Textile sector revealed in the SWOT analysis were simplified and used. In order to eliminate the inadequacy of SWOT analysis in practice, the answers were digitized using the frequency and percentage method. Choosing this method contributed to realistic evaluations. The reason why this type of analysis is widely used today is that it offers detailed analysis, is a simple but effective tool to use, and has the flexibility to be adapted to all types of businesses and sectors.
