Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine in depth the family functionality of families with gifted children. In the direction of this goal this qualitative research design was established as case study, that provied an in-depth investigation of known or perceived events. In this context, interview forms were prepared as parent and child form by taking expert opinion. The interviews were held with three families. The interviewed family members was mother, father and child. The obtained data were analyzed by the NVİVO qualitative research program. In conclusion, family functionality of families with gifted children can be extensively considered by family bonding, support within family, boundaries within family, roles within family, intrafamilial communication and family rituals dimensions. In this dimesions, it was found that family bonding dimension is the strongest dimension at families with gifted children. Keywords: Family, Family Functionality, Giftedness
