A research on the problems of gifted students about the school social work

In the study, the relationship between the social services and applications with gifted students' problems, Science and Art Centers in sample areas in-depth questioning, Turkey in passing school life of social service applications, the implementation of the planned education policy aimed both the perspective of both data and provide a road map. School Social Work; Since it concerns all gifted students studying at BİLSEM, the macro approach perspective has been made functional as the basic approach of the research. Macro social work is an effort to help clients by interfering with large systems. In the study; qualitative research method was adopted, and grounded theory design was used as data acquisition method. In this context the study of the universe as selected gifted students in Turkey, guidance teachers and parents of students who work in BİLSEM s as the sample has been accepted. Open-ended interviews were planned in the study and a semi-structured interview form was created for this. Participants of the study were counselor teachers working in Science and Art Centers (BİLSEM) and BİLSEM parents recommended by the teachers. In addition to a total of 21 BİLSEM counselors in 3 cities in 7 different regions, 2 more interviews were made in Istanbul and the number of 23 was reached. 23 In-depth interviews were made with BİLSEM parents and the total number of participants was 46. MAXQDA 20 qualitative analysis program was used to present which open codes the axis codes consist of for the presentation and visualization of the data. As a result of the research, it was found that gifted people and their parents have psycho-social problems. It was found that solving the psycho-social problems of special education students and their families is a team task. The identity of these team members for special education students and their work to be done are defined in the legal legislation. However, it was found that this team, including school social workers, was not employed by the Ministry of National Education. The problems of families with gifted children that can be solved by the school social service remain unsolved because of the lack of knowledge of such a service area. Although families, BİLSEM teachers and administrators have a great hunger for knowledge, they do not receive academic assistance, are not educated about the gifted, and gifted people in pre-school and university are excluded from the system. In the grounded theory method, the theory is at the very end of the research. The theory of the research was found to be the theory of healing: With the correct information and methods to be applied in the field of gifted people, education is a source of healing. An education policy based on this theory is expected to be a solution to the problems in the field of gifted students.
