Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims to examine the relationship between art and the concepts of utopia and dystopia. In order to achieve this aim, this text has focused on the visibility of these concepts in works of art and has tried analyzing and interpreting examples from art history in context. Due to the underlying socio-political aspects of these concepts, the relationship between the emotions of desire and fear and the societal order have become especially important when looking at notions of utopia and dystopia. For these reasons, a considerable amount of books and articles on this matter have been investigated. In addition to examining literary sources and individual artworks, there has been a group of artworks produced in order to explore form-related issues in art and their production processes.
