The effect of the adapted addiction prevention training program on increasing the awareness of primary school 4th grade students about technology addiction

The aim of the this research is to reveral the effect of the Addepted Addiction Prevention Training Program on the cognitive and emotional awareness of 4th grade primary school students regarding conscious technology use. A mixed design in which quantitative and qualitative approaches were used together was used in the research. The 3x3 design of the quasi-experimental model was used to examine the effect of the applied psycho-educational program on students' awareness of technology addiction. The study group of the research consists of 4th grade students studying at a public school in Mardin province in the 2021-2022 academic year. For the first phase of the research, data was collected from 283 students. In the second stage, 10 students were selected for the experimental group, 10 for the control group and 10 for the placebo group. Primary School Harmless Technology (ZT) Test and student stories were used as data collection tools. The obtained quantitative data were analyzed with ANOVA after normality tests were performed in the SPSS 25 program. For qualitative data, content analysis was performed. According to the results obtained from the research, the Addepted Addiction Prevention Training Program is an effective preventive program. In line with the results obtained from the research, suggestions were made for researchers and practitioners.
