The "tree" and the "marriage" motifs in the epic of Oghuz Khagan with Uyghur script and Altai Turks' Epic of Ak Tayçı and comparison of these motifs with similar motifs in Middle East mythologies

The study focuses on the "tree" and the "marriage" motifs in Oghuz Khagan with Uyghur script and Ak Tayçı epics and aimed to point the similarity of these motifs with motifs in Middle East Mythology out. The study consists of three parts. In the first part, summaries of Ak Tayçı and Oguz Kagan epics are given. In addition, it is pointed out that the motifs mentioned in this section are in the same order in the epics. In the second part, the holy marriage of the Sumerian kings and its mythological origin are explained, and the similar aspects of the marriage in question with the marriage in the Oguz Kagan epic are emphasized. This marriage tradition started from the Sumerians and spread throughout the Middle East. For this reason, beside the Middle Eastern mythologies Greek, Egyptian and Anatolian mythologies are included in the comparison in place. According to tradition, this marriage takes place in the spring. For this reason, spring ceremonies and rituals in folk beliefs are discussed in the third chapter.
