Abstract (EN)
SUMMARY: Objective: In this study, patients diagnosed with OSAS with polysomnography, sleep spindles compared with before and after CPAP treatment we aimed to determine how changes emerged. Materil and Methods: The study included 73 patients diagnosed with OSAS by PSG ages greater than 18 (M/F: 61/12) were studied. Congestive heart failure, COPD, bronchial asthma, patients with neurological disease were excluded. The patients were all night polysomnographic test. PAP titration of the auto-CPAP (APAP REMstar, Respironics, Germany) were used.NREM sleep spindles-S2 stage of the patients were counted. Adapted for a minimum of 15 minutes to an hour counted S2 sleep spindles, hours of sleep spindle index was calculated. Results: The study included 73 patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. The average number of hours of sleep spindles before the treatment with PAP,PAP levels were significantly increased after treatment re-counted. (288 + -55 392 + -40) Also found a significant correlation between patient age with the number of sleep spindles. (R=0.74,p<000) Conclusion: A multi-faceted relationship between sleep and memory are defined. At the same time sleep spindles are thought to be a marker of sleep quality. Sleep spindles coupled with the learning-dependent increases in brain activity. Increase in the amplitude of sleep spindles and hippocampal activation after learning are defined. Especially increase in activation occurs during topographical learning. Our study on patients diagnosed with OSAS using CPAP compared with pre-treatment levels were significantly increased after treatment with CPAP in the number of sleep spindles. The number of elderly patients more than younger patients demonstrated that sleep spindle. Keywords: Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome, PAP therapy, sleep spindles,
