A study on the effect of work family conflict on the mental conditions of women working remotely

Remote work is becoming more common day by day and it brings changes and transformations for individuals, organizations as well as societies. Remote working, which has an active role for female employees especially in entering and maintaining working life, can also cause work family conflicts. In this context, it is important to examine the effects of work family conflicts experienced by women working remotely. This thesis study aims to examine the effect of work family conflict experienced by women working remotely on their mental states. The sample of the study consists of 202 female participants working remotely in different sectors, without any specific sector limitations. Questionnaire technique was applied and demographic questions were asked to these participants in order to reach the data, then a brief symptom inventory was used to determine the psychological symptoms and the work family life conflict scale was used to determine the conflict levels. According to the results of the analysis of the data obtained within the scope of the study, it was determined that there was a significant difference between work family conflict and age, marital status and working time in the analysis of the relationship between work family conflict experienced by women working remotely and demographic factors. In addition, according to the analyzes made, it was concluded that the work family conflict experienced by women working remotely had a significant effect on general anxiety, depression, negative self, somatization and hostility.
