Özet (EN)

The purpose of this research; To examine the leadership practices in the teleworking system and the role of the leader in the teleworking system. The working group of the research consisted of employees of an IT company operating in 2022. A total of 10 personnel participated in the research. In this study, case study, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. As a data collection tool, an interview form consisting of 7 questions prepared by the researcher and suitable for the semi-structured interview technique was used. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data, and the answers given by the participants to the questions asked were coded and themes were extracted. According to the findings obtained from the study: the leader plays an important role on the motivation of the employees. It has been determined that oppressive leadership types are not adopted by both the employees and the company in the teleworking system, and it has been noted that agile and communicative leadership types are preferred the most. While agile and communicative leadership provides great advantages in terms of making quick decisions in short-term works and allowing everyone to express their thoughts freely, it can sometimes be abused by employees. In the remote working system, it is of great importance for the continuity of the company that the leader be supportive, empathize, prevent the work order from being used, and supervise the employees and works. In remote work, the leader should keep the motivation in his team alive, give importance to intra-group communication and increase his corporate loyalty by making them feel the trust he has in his staff.
