In this study, the formation conditions of TiB2, the main production method of which is carbothermal reduction, with additional processes (vacuum, mechanical activation and functional addition action) at lower temperatures were investigated. In this study, the 100% stoichiometric mixture was first reduced at 1200 °C under vacuum for different experimental durations. Then, the effect of the amount of mechanical activation on TiB2 formation was determined by using the 4-hour reduction time, which was determined to be optimal in the first series of experiments. At the last stage of the experiments, the effect of adding 2.5% and 5% NaCl to the mixtures in the first series of experiments was determined. The samples obtained after the test were characterized by XRD and SEM techniques, and it was observed that the unwanted phases were completely eliminated as a result of the reduction performed after 16 hours of ball-shaft work, and this test was determined as the most suitable test condition. . As a result of the experiments, at 1200oC, after 4 hours of reduction, 5% NaCl addition and 16 hours of mechanical activation. TiB2 production was carried out.
