Examination of afforestation works in van province

This study was carried out in order to evaluate the afforestation works carried out in the province of Van and the values of the afforestation studies carried out by the Van Orman İşletme Müdürlüğü were used. A total of 682,354 saplings were brought together with the soil in different years during the afforestation works carried out in Van. In the studies, it was determined that Juniper, Birch, Hawthorn, Ahlat, Iğde, Scotch Pine, Almond, Maple , Larch, Walnut, Cedar, Acacia, Mahlep and Rosehip sapling types were used. As a result of the observations made in the field, the species that was determined to be more successful than the other species is the almond species naturally found on the island of Van Akdamar. Almond makes quite a difference in terms of both success rate and growth performance compared to other types. In addition, if the studies are successful, it is foreseen that it will provide a strong economic gain to the local people.
