Bronze Ages in the Van Fortress Mound: Stratigraphy, architecture, pottery

The scope of this study, which was titled "Bronze Ages in the Van Fortress Mound: Stratigraphy, Architecture, Pottery", consists of archaeological studies and data within years 2010/18 in the Mound of Van Fortress. In the light of these data and in the Bronze Age of the Van Lake Basin, within the framework of the subjective dynamics in itself, the traces of culture were tried to be understood. Mound of Van Fortress has the material culture of the Early Bronze Age and Middle Bronze Age. After the excavations of the Bronze Age culture remains uncovered until 2017, the ruins of the culture which point to the Early Bronze Age which had architectural elements for the first time were obtained. At the same time, with the arrival of homogeneous materials, the Early Bronze Age presence began to be understood. Particularly, pottery groups with various decorations and forms characteristics defining Kura-Araxes Culture are very interesting. These pottery groups, concordantly architectural remains and foundings were presented in the thesis. As a result of the data obtained from the Mound of Van Fortress, the spread area of Kura-Araxes Culture and it's interaction with the Late Chalcolithic Age has been re-evaluated; similar features and distinctive aspects of Eastern Anatolia compared to the reconsideration Early Bronze Age settlements have been tried to be determined. The possible causes of the results were evaluated by taking into consideration the cultural geographies and the pottery groups in the Van Fortress Mound.
