Abstract (EN)

Research on the eco-friendly production of metallic nanoparticles is growing steadily. The goods have a diverse array of applications. Silver nanoparticles are commonly utilised in medicinal applications due to their antibacterial characteristics. This thesis aims to synthesise silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using the Allium schoenoprasum L. (Sirmo) plant growing in the Van region. The nanoparticles were characterised using various objective analyses and their antibacterial and antioxidant activities were examined. The characteristics of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) produced through synthesis were analysed using a variety of instruments including UV-Vis, XRD, FTIR, FESEM, SEM, TEM, AFM and EDX. AgNPs exhibited peak absorbance at 487.50 nm. Their morphological appearance was spherical, they showed monodispersion, and their crystal size was 6.26 nm. The lowest inhibitory doses of the synthesised AgNPs were found to be 1.00-2.00 µg mL-1 for suppressing the development of pathogenic Candida albicans ATCC 10231, pathogenic gram-positive S. aureus ATCC 29213 bacteria, and gram-negative Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC27833 strains. AgNPs were found to possess DPPH and copper ion reduction capabilities in relation to antioxidant effects.
