Abstract (EN)
The Varka and Gülşâh masnavi written by Yusuf-ı Meddâh and the Leylâ vü Mecnûn masnavi written by Fuzûlî are both from Arabic literature and there are similarities between them that are not underestimated. In addition, although Kerem and Aslı Story is a folk tale, it has some common qualities with the works mentioned in terms of the characters and the events that happen to them. In this study, the two masnavi and folk stories in question are studied and compared in detail. The study consists of three parts. In first part, the kinds of verse and prose in which the works were written are mentioned and the studies in Turkish literature related to these works are examined. In the second part, the lives of the authors and the summaries of the works discussed are given. In the third chapter, the comprasions of the works are specified and the similarities and differences are discussed. Since the similarity of Kerem and Aslı story to mesnevi was limited, not every title given for each substance for this story but the substances that are worth to be compared are given with titles.
