Language articles in Varlik magazine (1934-1980)

The periodicals that provide an opportunity to be handled political, social, and cultural subjects and one of the most important source of information are significant resources in the name of enlightening the history of literature and language.The developments about language which are the section of civilization history find place in periodicals.Varlık magazine, that was published on the purpose of "filling the deficiency of authentic art magazine" by Yaşar Nabi Nayır on 15th July 1933 and is continuing its broadcast life, has contributed for the history of literature and language as one of the long winded magazines. In the study, the language articles between the years of 1933-1980 in the range of 1st-868th issues of Varlık magazine have been observed. Clearing up the advance about Turkish language and contributing next studies related to the topic on the basis of the language writings of the magazine between the specified dates are aimed with the research.The study consists of three parts and the chapters have been banded together with the following titles: "Introduction: Varlık Magazine and Its Language Policy, Part I : Review, Part II : Explanatory Index of The Language Articles in Varlık Magazine." The life of press of the term has been mentioned in the introduction and the importance of periodicals has been laid emphasis on with the reference to Varlık magazine.The general features of Varlık magazines have been given in subheadings. In the first part, the articles about the language in the magazine have been classified with under titles and evaluation about the topics has been made.In the second part, the explanatory index of language articles in Varlık magazine has been given.The explanatory index has been presented two different ways according to their subjects and the names of poets. At the end of the study, it will be understood that Varlık magazine was not unconcerned about the development related to language while it was concentrating on art and literature. The magazine has specified a language policy and it hasn't made much concessions.
